New Sites!

I found some new sites yesterday when I was doing some homework for my computer technology class.  I thought they were pretty neat.  These sites contain a lot of good information and a lot of good examples of different types of music.  I hope you can use them!

www.brainpop.com  (I found a really great educational cartoon about Louis Armstrong and a really great educational cartoon about jazz.  There were also educational cartoons about different aspects/genres of music.  This site also contains educational cartoons from all different disciplines.  I only checked out the music ones, though, because that's what my assignment pertained to.)

www.teachertube.com  (I found some pretty cool videos here, too.  One talked about the science of sound and what part of each instrument in each family vibrates to make the sound.  Another video was of a marimba ensemble playing The Hey! Song.  There are all kinds of educational videos on this site, from all kinds of disciplines.  There are also Bill Nye the Science Guy videos!  I was so excited to see that!  I LOVE Bill Nye!)

First Post!

This is my first post as an almost official high school choir teacher.  I am finishing up my last year of college and then I will be student teaching.

I am so excited!

This blog will chronicle my teaching experiences as I finish up my classes and whatever news, websites and things I find interesting and useful to teaching high school choir.

As my first interesting thing to post, I would like to post this link:
www.moof.com/

I like this website because you can upload your entire music library, but also access music from anywhere online so that you can let your students listen in the classroom.  I hope you find it useful!
